MIRI: A teenager was allegedly raped by two men on the same day early this month.
The alleged incidents occurred at a longhouse in Sungai Teniku here.
Miri OCPD ACP Lim Meng Seah, when met yesterday, revealed that the alleged incidents happened on March 5.
“We have yet to arrest the suspects – one is the victim’s uncle and the other is her neighbour at the longhouse,” said ACP Lim.
A police report was lodged by the 17-year-old victim on Wednesday.
“The victim alleged that she was raped by the two suspects on the same day…the second rape happened one hour after the first,” ACP Lim said.
He added that the alleged incidents occurred around 12pm on March 5.
“While sleeping in the living room, the first suspect came and lay down next to her before allegedly raping the victim, and in a space of one hour, the second suspect came and did the same thing,” said ACP Lim.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the girl is a divorcee and has stayed with her mother at the longhouse for the past six months after her divorce.
The case is being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code.
