The under construction building caught fire.
A large fire burned through the building.

MIRI: Fire broke out on the 8th floor of the under-construction Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) building at Pulau Melayu 1 here yesterday evening.

As of 7.30 pm, there were no reports of any casualties or injuries.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department Operation Centre reported that the fire started on the building’s roof and destroying seven water tanks.

The department received the alert at 5.34 pm and firemen from Lopeng, Miri Sentral and Lutong stations were rushed to the site.

Upon arrival, they quickly set up a water supply from a hydrant to the affected floor.
