SIBU: Narcotics police arrested a jobless man and seized 180.34g of ecstasy drugs following a raid at Jalan Long Bridge on Monday (Feb 19).

Sibu police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said the 34-year-old suspect was picked up for alleged involvement in drug activities at the lobby of a hotel around 4.15 pm.

“Inspections led to the discovery of two ‘Juice Master’ packets containing suspected ecstasy mixture drugs weighing 74.22g.

“Following that, the team raided an apartment along Jalan Wong King Huo and they also found three more ‘Juice Master’ packets with similar drugs, weighing 106.12g.

“The drugs weighing 180.34g, are estimated to be valued at RM2,131,” he said, adding that the police also seized a Perodua Alza car worth RM50,000.

Background checks showed that the suspect, who tested positive for methamphetamine, had three prior records related to drugs.

Zulkipli added that the suspect is being remanded for seven days until Feb 27 to facilitate investigations.

The case is being investigated under Section 39B and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
