Unemployed gets 8 months for trespassing

KUCHING: A jobless man was sentenced to eight months’ jail by the Magistrate’s Court here for trespassing into an unoccupied house in April last year.

Mahmud Muhi, 44, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Zubaidah Sharkawi.

He was accused of breaking into the house of a 47-year-old man in Jalan Ellis around 1.40pm on April 22, 2022.

Investigation found that he had trespassed into the house by cutting the lock to the front gate before driving his car into the garage.

ASP Rogayah Rosli prosecuted the case.
