Unemployed man nabbed for drugs

BAU: An unemployed man was nabbed by police for drug possession at a parking lot at Tasik Biru on Monday (Sept 7).

District police chief DSP Poge Nyaon stated that the 30-year-old suspect was found inside a suspiciously parked vehicle by a team of Bau narcotics police around 10am.

The team then inspected the man and found a plastic packet containing crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine in his left hand.

“The drugs, weighing around 1.11g with a street value of RM180, was seized as evidence.

“Both the man and the seized item were taken to Bau police station for further action,” he said in a statement.

Poge noted that the suspect, who has a criminal record, was tested positive for drugs.

The man will be remanded to facilitate investigations under Section 12 (2) and Section 15 (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
