Unemployed man nabbed in Bau

BAU: An unemployed man was apprehended by police here on suspicion of being involved with drug abuse activity.

According to Bau district police chief DSP Poge Nyaon, the arrest on the suspect was made on Friday (Jan 28) at approximately 12.30am.

“During Ops Tapis conducted by the district police’s Narcotic Crime Investigation Division, the 23-year-old man was detained near his home at Jalan Jambusan.

“An initial body inspection on the suspect found no lethal objects or drugs, and upon further inspection on the suspect’s pants, the team found one small transparent plastic pack containing crystal methamphetamine,” he said in a statement.

He noted the drug pack, weighing 0.35 gramme and worth around RM40, was in a pocket behind the suspect’s pants.

A urine test also confirmed that the suspect was positive of drug. The case is investigated under Section 12(2) and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.
