KUCHING: The resignation of Julau MP Larry Sng from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sarawak must have been due to his constituents demanding development projects which he cannot fulfil, opined Datuk Snowdan Lawan.

In saying this, the Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) Youth chief stated that Sng shifted allegiance to Perikatan Nasional (PN) because he had not been able to serve his Julau constituency effectively due to lack of much-needed development funds.

“He must have felt the pinch from his constituents’ demands, however, there can be many reasons for his resignation, but the bottom line is, in politics you are not principled.

“For him to resign this time, he abandons his principles for development. Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) on the other hand is people and development-centric.

“I believe by now the voters in Julau are able to differentiate and judge, by character, the representative they should choose come GE15,” he added.

Snowdan also stated that the Julau seat is PRS and only PRS can nominate its candidate.

“Sng was sacked from PRS for legitimate reasons and PRS doesn’t want to repeat the same mistake,” he stressed.

The Julau MP had quit PKR and pledged his allegiance to the PN government on Feb 28 and stated that his resignation was due to being unable to serve Julau effectively through lack of much-needed development funds.

“Now, I am confident that I will be able to deliver my election promises to my electorate. I won the 2018 election as an Independent and now I declare myself as a government-friendly Independent,” said Sng.
