KUCHING: There is a potential for collaboration and partnership between Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) and Romanian universities.

UNIMAS Vice Chancellor Professor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Saudi revealed this after a follow-up engagement with Romanian Ambassador to Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam Nineta Barbulescu in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday (Mar 22).

“The engagement was a follow-up to Her Excellency’s visit to the UNIMAS campus last week. In principle, we have agreed on a potential collaboration and partnership between UNIMAS and Romanian universities,” he said.

On a separate occasion, Kadim attended an engagement with Turkish Ambassador to Malaysia Dr Merve Safa Kavakci at her official residence.

“Our delegations had the chance to taste the wide variety of Turkish food and sweets prepared and served by Her Excellency’s chef. We were also entertained with a performance of the traditional Turkish Whirling Dervish Dance.

“We would like to thank Her Excellency for the hospitality. We hope that the relationship between UNIMAS and Turkey remains strong with this visit and future visits to universities in the republic,” he said.
