UNIMAS to collab on research projects with Somalian varsity

KUCHING: Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) has entered a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Hano Technical University, Somalia.

UNIMAS vice chancellor Professor Datuk Mohamad Kadim Suaidi said the university had pay a courtesy call led by its chancellor Professor Dr Sadiyo Abdullahi today.

Through the signing of the MOU, he said UNIMAS faculty members would be able to collaborate on joint research projects especially in the field of TVET, student exchange programmes, mobility programmes, matching research grants as well as offering postgraduate studies and dual degree programmes.

“The MOU also aims to establish a framework for cooperation that would benefit both institutions and contribute to the growth of academic and research excellence,” he said.

Also present during the courtesy call were UNIMAS deputy vice chancellor of research and innovation Professor Dr Siti Noor Linda Taib, Faculty of Engineering acting dean Dr Ervina Junaidi and other dignitaries.
