Unimas to hold social science conference in June

KUCHING: The Social Science and Humanities Research Conference (SSHR), themed ‘Realigning Science and Society towards a Resilient and Sustainable Future’, will take place on June 15 at Pullman Hotel Kuching.

According to the Faculty of Social Science and Humanities (FSSK), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas), the mini conference was organised in conjunction with InTEX22 Unimas.

“This mini conference aims to tie multidisciplinary threads together and it welcomes researchers embarking on transdisciplinary research in social science and humanities to share their scientific findings.

“It also welcomes researchers from non-social science and humanities backgrounds to showcase discoveries that have the potential to solve society’s complex problems,” FSSK said on Wednesday (April 27).FSSK is also calling paper presenters to submit their abstracts of between 250 and 300 words in English or Bahasa Malaysia not later than May 9.

As for submission of full papers, FSSK said it must not be more than 10 pages or exceeding 5,000 words, including the abstract, reference, tables and figures.

“The paper must be in Times New Roman, double-spacing, 12 points and using the APA referencing system, seventh edition.

“Only papers submitted by May 31 will be included in the conference proceedings. Those who are interested may submit their papers to parnold@unimas.my or mernisa@alexiusunimas.my.”
