KUCHING: It is the fervent hope of Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah that the state’s unity agenda must continue to be pursued.
He said the Sarawak Day celebration is an avenue for Sarawakians to commemorate and express their affinity for their homeland.
Abdul Karim said it is also to remember the services and sacrifices of past leaders and freedom fighters of Sarawak.
“Unity among multi-racial and multi-religious communities is important in creating a state and nation that is always peaceful and stable.
“In the context of Sarawak, the commitment to pursue this unity agenda is very important to ensure development and progress in Bumi Kenyalang,” he said in a Facebook post today.
Abdul Karim said efforts to unite the people through the strengthening of racial integration in the state and country must be maintained for the wellbeing of future generations.
“Sarawak is one of the states in Malaysia that has always given priority to the wellbeing and sustainable development of society.
“Together, we stand firm and move forward,” he exhorted.
