KUCHING: Petra Jaya incumbent MP Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said programmes like the Maulidur Rasul celebration can bring villagers together.
“Previously, everyone knew each other in the neighbourhood. Now, it can be seen that some in the community do not know who lives next door.
“Therefore, it is important to organise a programme like this in order to strengthen the relationship between the communities so that unity can be maintained,” he said at a Maulidur Rasul celebration at the late Alwie Wahie’s house along Jalan Datuk Ajibah Abol tofay.
The celebration was organised by the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) of the Kpg Segoleng mosque.
Fadillah said that brotherhood among the communities in this day and age is very important to maintain unity because that is the basis for developing a society.
“The strength of a community will determine the success of a state,” he said.
