BALINGIAN: Community leadersare urged to update their village profile from time to time to ensure that it is relevant with the current development.

Mukah District officer Shaferi Saili said it is important for administrative purposes, for the government and also the villages.

According to him, the database from the village profile was also used in the distribution of government aid including food baskets during the movement control order (MCO).

“The village profile helps to facilitate in the distribution of government aid during the MCO,” he said at a Community Engagement@Balingian programme held at the community hall here recently.

Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi officiated at the closing of the half-day event, which was attended by 112 community leaders (ketua masyarakat and ketua kaum) in Balingian constituency.

Shaferi added database from the village profile was also needed for other purposes such as development, project planning and so on.

He thanked community leaders for their cooperation and support throughout the MCO period.

He also advised village development and security committees (JKKKs) to prepare and submit annual financial report to the authorities.
