Updates on Nanga Baoh projects given

DALAT: People in Nanga Baoh near here have been updated on projects proposed for their area.

Tellian assemblyman, Yussibnosh Balo said the Jalan Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Ulu Baoh to SK Nanga Baoh project was tendered out last August.  

On the water supply project in Ulu Baoh, he said the upgrading of water treatment plant in Selangau had also been tendered out while the main pipes were being laid.

“When the road in Nanga Baoh is completed, it will be easier to bring basic development to the area.

“Currently, Sarawak Alternative Water Supply System (Sawas) is providing clean water supply to the people,” he said when officiating at a Community Policing Dalat District Programme at Rumah Tulu, Nanga Baoh on Sunday (Sept 13).

The former Balingian assemblyman added Nanga Baoh had potential tourism products including homestays.

On the approved fund for a retaining wall project worth RM550,000, he revealed that it was a joint allocation from Tellian state constituency and Mukah parliamentary constituency.

Yussibnosh also advised the people to submit new applications to Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) about the telecommunication signal problems as a suitable location had already been agreed on by the locals.

On the possibility that a candidate from another party would contest in Tellian constituency in the coming state election, he said it was the party’s right to do so in a democratic country but it must realise Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS)’s ability in administering Sarawak.

On the village development and security committee (JKKK), Yussibnosh said it had to be strengthened.

At the event, Yussibnosh also handed over certificates to the JKKKs of Rumah (Rh) Tulu Sli, Rh Duah Entinggi, Rh Bala Umba, Rh Buan Jingai, Rh Lawai Abon, Rh Abus Junau,Rh Iman Janggot and Rh Balin Gema.

He also witnessed the handing over of Rabies Awareness Posters from Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) to Penghulu Ambau Achong.

The posters will be distributed to the tuai rumah in Nanga Baoh.
