Dr Kelvin Yii (centre) presents allocation to Tanah Puteh Clinic.

KUCHING: It is vital that facilities in the Tanah Puteh Clinic here to be upgraded.

This is in order to meet the needs of better healthcare service for its patients, said Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii.

The government clinic is also one of the designated health facilities for Covid-19 screenings and therefore, there is a need for improvement of the facilities to cope with possible increase of patients, he also pointed out.

“Recently due to the heavy rains, some parts of the clinic were partially flooded, especially the outdoor area which is being used as a Covid-19 testing bay especially for those who show symptoms of influenza-like-illness (ILI),” he said after visiting the clinic today.

He further stated that since his allocations had been cut after the change in government, he only managed to allocate contribution worth RM8,800 to help address some of the issues faced by the clinic especially the flooding in the testing bay for the convenience of the clinic staff and patients.
