MIRI: Assistant Minister of Women, Family and Childhood Development Rosey Yunus has reminded the community of various races here to uphold strong and solid unity amongst them as it is a key foundation of a nation.

Speaking at the launching of the public feedback on the National Unity Action Plan 2021-2025 or PTPN in Miri on Friday (Sept 4), Rosey expressed her concern over some attempt by irresponsible group of people to break the unity amongst races in the state lately.

“Lately, we have seen how these group of people were trying to lure the community into issues of race, religion and even languages; we should not allow them to break our unity,” she said.

She added, that such sentiments should not be allowed to enter and spread within our society.

On today’s programme, Rosey disclosed that the feedback session was held to ensure the views from the people, relevant stakeholders, including Rukun Tetangga neighbourhood members, community leaders, government agencies, private sector, non-governmental organisations and academicians were taken into account in the formulation of the PTPN, which will support the implementation of the plan from 2021 to 2025.

About 215 people were attended at the one-day programme held at the Kelab Rekreasi Petroliam Lutong, here.

The programme was held simultaneously throughout the country today.

Also present was the National Unity and Integration Department (JPNIN) Miri division officer Giri Nyareng.
