Urgent! More blood needed

KUCHING: If you’ve never been a patient whose life depended on the amount of blood available, think of blood as the currency of the hospital that determines the value of the lives of the entire community and you as the patron or the VIP.

As nobody knows when or what type and how much blood is needed for a patient in any given situation, blood donors play an important role.

The Blood Bank Centre of Sarawak General Hospital appeals to all blood donors and the public to come forward and donate blood this weekend.

Your blood has a huge impact as you are not only contributing to the sufficiency of blood in the Sarawak General Hospital, but you are also adding to the value of life for every patient admitted in need of blood.

If you have never donated blood, why not make this weekend the first time experiencing giving your blood to save the community?

Muslim donors are also encouraged to donate at SGH Blood Bank Centre which will be open on the aforementioned dates and times.

For Muslim donors, it is advisable to donate from 7.30am until 9am, provided with heavy meals during sahur.

In light of Aidilfitri celebrations coming soon, donating blood on the final week of Ramadan should be a memorable experience, especially are donating for the first time in your life. Successful donors will also receive a 5kg bag of rice.

Here are the venues for the mobile donation drive held this weekend:

Saturday
7.30am to 2pm at SGH Blood Bank Centre @ DCC
9am to 2pm at the Indian Association Kuching Hall, Rock Road

Sunday
7.30am to 2pm at SGH Blood Bank Centre @ DCC
10am to 3pm at Level 2, Kuching Sentral
