Use aid wisely, recipients advised

MIRI: Telang Usan Assemblyman Dennis Ngau today reminded recipients of aid schemes given through the Ministry of Agriculture, Native Land and Regional Development to use the aid wisely to expand their food businesses from home.

He advised on the presentation of basic food tools worth RM112,000 to 16 recipients from his constituency at the Miri Agriculture Office at Jalan Angsana here.

“The state government led by  Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) through the Ministry of Agriculture, Native Land and Regional Development has allocated RM1million in agriculture facilitation fund for each state assemblyman to develop the agriculture, livestock and fisheries sectors in their respective areas,” he said.

The many schemes and aid programmes implemented by the state government emphasised reaching out and encouraging stakeholders throughout the state, he pointed out.

On Long Lama’s Rural Growth Centre (RGC), Dennis said the state government would continue to implement programmes to enhance the economic growth of the people in the area.

“I believe the  RGC can become a platform for the women in Long Lama to do their trading,” he said.

Also present at the programme was a political secretary to the chief minister Charles Balan Seling.
