Using alternative route after landslide

BELAGA: Residents in Murum are asked to use alternative routes following the Murum-Belaga road getting cut off due to a landslide on Friday. According to Belaga Fire and Rescue Department chief, Helman Main in a statement yesterday, the landslide which was occurred due to continuous rains happened at about 5pm that day. "Damage to the road is about 90 per cent rendering it not passable to either small or big vehicles. “We have also advised the Public Works Department (PWD) to close the road completely to motorists," he said. Helman also advised the public to temporary use alternative roads such as oil palm plantations road while PWD is doing the best they can to repair the road. On Friday, a 51-minute video of a section of the road which has caved in which looks like a waterfall, has gone viral in the state.
