KUCHING: The State Legislate Assembly (DUN) session will commence as usual from tomorrow (Nov 9) until Friday (Nov 13).

Speaker Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar said despite the days of the sitting being shortened to five days instead of eight days as scheduled earlier, the Standing Order allows the sitting to go beyond 6.30pm.

“It (the sitting) will begin in the morning and for the afternoon session, we may go beyond 6.30pm because we have shortened the number of days,” he said at a press conference on the upcoming DUN Sitting on Sunday.

He also assured that the respective state assemblymen would not be deprived of time to give their speeches.

“The first day of the sitting 20 minutes is given, on the second day 15 minutes is given. We use that practice,” he said.

“Because this is a very important sitting (2021 State Budget), we would like maximum number of honourable members participating.”
