SIBU: Pertubuhan Belia Dayak Sarawak (PEBEDAS) plays a vital role as a platform for voicing the concerns and aspirations of Dayak youth.

Hence, Machan assemblyman Allan Siden Gramong urged PEBEDAS members to fully utilise the platform to further develop Dayak youth.

“It is not easy to maintain an association. Hence, I applaud PEBEDAS, as the association has managed to last for the past 10 years.

“Please use this platform to effectively manage Dayak youth, especially those below 30 years old,” he said at the PEBEDAS Decaversary Dinner here last night (August 5).

Also present were Ngemah and Baleh assemblymen Anyi Jana and Nicholas Kudi Jantai, respectively.

Meanwhile, PEBEDAS founder and advisor Daniel Batin urged the youth to join the association and further develop it.

“To the youth outside there, if you think that this association is important and plays a crucial role in uniting Dayak people, please join us; this is my message to you,” he said.

The association’s president Joshua Jackson said that the association has been working hard through various programmes to aid the community, including providing food baskets during the COVID-19 pandemic, providing assistance to the fire victims, and more.

“The association will be working harder in the future, especially in empowering the youth and its committees (through programmes) in accordance with the current era and needs,” he said.

At the ceremony, Allan contributed RM10,000, while Kudi and Anyi gave RM5,000 to PEBEDAS to carry out their activities and programmes.
