MIRI: The Miri Divisional Disaster Management Committee (MDDMC) is planning to set up a vaccination centre for industrial workers in order to ramp up vaccination for the economic frontliners in this district.
This was revealed by the minister in charge of the committee Datuk Lee Kim Shin on Monday (June 14) after chairing a Zoom meeting with the committee members.
“We have discussed with several industries such as the shipping sector, construction, manufacturing, tourism, transportation, oil and gas and other economic sectors the setting up of the centre,” he explained.
Lee revealed that recently, the oil and gas sector planned to carry out a pilot project of the vaccination centre for the industrial workers and MDDMC advised it to submit an application to the Covid-19 Immunisation Taskforce (CITF) Sarawak.
Also present during the Zoom meeting was Acting Miri Resident Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusuf cum MDDMC chairman.
