Vaccination centres to boost inoculation of plantation fraternity

MIRI: The state’s Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) had approved the establishment of five industrial vaccination centres (PPVINs) for the plantation sector in this district.

All five PPVINs namely PPVIN SOP Lambir; PPVIN Saremas; PPVIN SOP Tinbarap 5; PPVIN Subis Galasah and PPVIN Woodman Miri have commenced their vaccination drives since July 8.

According to acting Miri Resident cum Miri Divisional Disaster Management Committee (MDDMC) chairman Jamalie Busri in statement by Ukas on Sunday (Aug 8), a total 7, 718 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered to plantation workers and their families as of July 21 since the establishment of the five PPVINs.

“For those workers who missed out their vaccination appointments, the estate companies must notify Miri Agriculture Department for data collection before handing it out to MDDMC for the rearrangement of their appointments,” said Jamalie.
