ASAJAYA: The vaccination process in Asajaya is going smoothly, said its assemblyman Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah after visiting the Asajaya Sports Complex today.

“Thankfully, the process is going well, even though previously there were rumours, videos, and so on which made many Asajaya residents doubtful and worried about receiving the vaccine.

“From what the State Health Department (JKNS) and Asajaya District Office has informed me, all that is now gone and many residents have willingly come for their vaccination after being called,” he said.

Abdul Karim, who is also Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister as well as Youth and Sports Minister, said this was the third day this month that the vaccination programme was being carried out in Asajaya.

He said no untoward incidences had occurred, such as issues with side effects experienced by vaccine recipients.

He thanked JKNS, Asajaya District Office, and community leaders in Asajaya who had given accurate information to residents there to assuage their concerns over the vaccine.

“As such, we can see that the acceptance of the people in this area to be vaccinated is good,” he said.

He hoped that those who had yet received their vaccine would be called soon, and he also hoped that future vaccination programmes in the area would run smoothly.

“This is the way to cut the chain of transmissions and eliminate the problem we are facing today,” said Abdul Karim.
