SERIAN: A driver died after his van collided with a lorry loaded with cooking gas cylinders near the Gedong junction at Jalan Serian-Sri Aman on Wednesday (Feb 3).
Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the 71-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident while the lorry driver was unscathed.
The collision happened around 8.15am. The lorry was on its way from Kuching to Sibu.
“As a result of the collision, the van driver suffered serious head and leg injuries,” said Alexson in a statement on Wednesday.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987.
