SIBU: Defeated GPS candidate Wong Ching Yong said he has not lost his spirit to continue serving the people despite his loss on Saturday.

He said was grateful for the votes he secured as it showed that the people still need GPS to serve.

Wong, who is SUPP Dudong branch chief, lost to incumbent Alice Lau from DAP in the general election.

“But I need to thank my supporters, my team, and family members who gave me unceasing support throughout the election campaign,” he said, adding, “you are the best.”

“I congratulate Alice and pray that she will always be blessed … good luck to her. Now it’s time for me to go back to my normal routine and rest,” he said.
