MIRI: A private university student died after her car crashed into a tree along Jalan Taman Tunku here yesterday (Nov 22).
The fatal accident happened around 3.45 pm when the 21-year-old woman was driving solo towards Taman Tunku from the city centre.
Miri police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the victim lost control of her vehicle and skidded to the left before crashing into a roadside tree.
“As a result, the victim sustained serious injuries to her head and she was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
“Her body was then taken to the Miri Hospital for a post-mortem,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
