BINTULU: The native customary rights (NCR) land around five longhouses in Rantau Belak Nyala, Tatau will be worth more following the implementation of a joint venture between the owners and an agricultural development company, Asia Borneo Enterprise Sdn Bhd.

The joint venture (JV) signing ceremony on Sunday was witnessed by Assistant Minister of Native Laws and Customs, Datuk John Sikie Tayai.

In his opening remarks after a ‘naseh tanah’ ceremony (blessing ceremony) at the event, Sikie was confident that the JV would help boost the incomes of the scheme participants.

The longhouses involved are Rumah Jackson Pedas, Rumah Jalong, Rumah Wilson Blue, Rumah Serdin and Rumah Sandak.

In the first phase of the project, 1,444 hectares will be developed.

Also present at the ceremony were Acting Tatau District officer Calvin Ligong, Tatau Police chief DSP Jeme Reis, Asia Borneo Enterprise Sdn Bhd director Richard Teo and Pemanca Pemanca Gerosen Jubin.
