MIRI: Folk in the B40 group (low income) have been encouraged to venture into the food business.

Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Assistant Minister Datuk Rosey Yunus advised them to sell and promote their products on social media to attract more customers and generate more revenue.

She was speaking at a micro connector programme that attracted some 40 participants here on Thursday.

It was organised by IANA Corporation Sdn Bhd, a service operator of SME Corporation Malaysia.

Rosey, who is Bekenu assemblywoman, said such programmes needed to be continued and organised in rural areas to help the needy group, including single mothers and people with disabilities.

“The participants must be exposed to knowledge, not only in theory but also practical, to facilitate them in building new business networks,” she said.

At the event, IANA Group contributed 50 oximeters to the Bekenu Service Centre.
