SIBU: Sibu Active Youth Space (SAYS) here will be used as a venue for the International Extreme Game 2022 which is expected to be held on Oct 29 to 30.

Deputy Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development Dr Annuar Rapaee said that the event, which is expected to attract participants from Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, Philippines, and even Thailand, will be organised by the Nangka Constituency Service Centre.

“This competition may be the first in Sarawak held at an international level. We aim to attract participation from neighbouring countries to come and compete here,” he told reporters when officiating at the launch of SAYS Free WiFi here yesterday.

The Nangka assemblyman said he believed that this may be the first international extreme competition in Sarawak because Sibu is the only part of Sarawak that has complete facilities to host the event.

“SAYS has the longest 100-metre long skate plaza in the state,” he said, while adding that more details about the competition will be announced by the organising committee later.

Commenting about SAYS which is equipped with free WiFi, Dr Annuar said it would allow people to surf the internet.

“Before this, when Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg approved the allocation for the SAYS project, he wanted it to be equipped with free WiFi for the youth to surf the internet to increase their knowledge.

“People who come to SAYS only need to register and they can enjoy the free WiFi,” he said.
