Nanta talks to press at WPC II section visit.

MIRI: The remaining 4.5km Lambir section of the Pan Borneo highway  is expected to be completed in stages by 2026.

According to Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, due to some concerns on that particular section, they have decided to build a viaduct there.

“We decided to build viaduct at this particular section after some continuous land movement was detected … and this 400 metre-long viaduct will take about 24 months to complete,” he told local media during a site visit on today.

Accompanying Nanta was JKR Sarawak North Region Pan Borneo Highway manager Siaw Ming Chian.
“Construction work on the viaduct is expected to begin in the third quarter of this year and is expected to be completed in 2025,” he said.

He added that the construction work of the viaduct would not disrupt traffic flows  as motorists can still use the existing road.
