KUALA LUMPUR: The three young children of electrocution victims Damian Senin and Ronwina Mambai will be returning to Kuching tomorrow.

Sarawak Volunteers patron Datuk Seri Fadilllah Yusof disclosed this after visiting 10-year-old Elisa Olivia Damian, eight-year-old Joseph Rayyan Damian and two-year-old Magdalena Damian today.

He said the flight arrangements for the three siblings and next of kin, transit accommodation and funeral arrangements for the two victims were fully funded by Sarawak Volunteers with the help of Sarawak House in Kuala Lumpur.

“They will be brought home by the late Ronwina’s brother, Robert Adi,43, and his wife Kelly John,36. They were flown immediately to Kuala Lumpur after the incident,” he said in a social media post.

The Senior Minister of Works added that efforts to help the family were mobilised immediately after the incident on March 10, with Sarawak House officers and Sarawak Volunteers rushing to Cameron Highlands upon receiving a report to provide the necessary assistance.

“We would like to thank Sarawak House in Kuala Lumpur led by its director Awang Supian Awang Daud who has assisted in facilitating all matters to help the family,” Fadillah said.

He also extended his condolences to the late couple’s family members.

On March 10, BERNAMA reported that the victims Damian and Ronwina were found dead in the bathroom of a flat in Taman Tringkap, Brinchang in Cameron Highlands.

Preliminary investigation found burn marks on the woman’s palm, who is believed to have been electrocuted when she went to help husband, who was showering using a water heater when the incident occurred.
