KUCHING: In coping with the movement control order (MCO), Malaysians have taken their creativity to social media that even Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was left in awe.
A video that showed a man cycle-racing against a stuffed toy earned specific mention in Muhyiddin’s preamble to the Additional Prihatin Package announcement made in the recent weeks.
The video entitled “Hari ke-17: Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan” (Day 17: Movement Control Order) was produced by a Kuching-born content creator fondly known as Harun. It was uploaded on SukaSuka’s Facebook page a day prior to the announcement and has drawn more than one million views within two weeks.
“I was home alone and my only company was my brother’s toys. So, I shot the video just to have some fun. I didn’t expect it to go viral,” revealed the 26-year-old in a phone interview.
“The idea came to me out of the blue. It seemed easy but as I started recording the scenes, I realised it is actually harder, especially the falling scene. But, now that it is enjoyed by many, the effort is worthwhile,” he added.
