DALAT: A proposed road to connect Kampung Klid near here is expected to be implemented soon and this is good news for local folk.

Kampung Klid is the farthest village in this district compared to others such as Kampung Sungai Kut, Kampung Medong, Kampung Kekan, Kampung Sungai Ud, Kampung Tanam and Kampung Balan.

According to a notification gazette published in a local English daily yesterday, a piece of land situated at Sungai Lebrasau in Ulu Medong here with an area of approximately 2,257.1 square metres had been acquired for that purpose.

It also specified that the land had been delineated on the Plan (Print No. 6B/AQ/10D/10/2019) and was required for a public purpose, namely for the proposed Jalan Kampung Medong/Lebrasau/Kampung Klid.

Meanwhile, tender for the proposed road was advertised by the local media in December last year, and was already closed.

Fatimah, who is also Dalat assemblywoman, had often raised the proposal during her frequent official visit to her constituency.

During her official visits to Kampung Klid from time to time, she sympathised with the locals because the village is quite isolated and also prone to floods.

Currently, Kampung Klid is only accessible by river through Batang Oya.
