KUCHING: The Sessions Court here today fined a village headman RM8,000 in default 10 months ‘jail after he pleaded guilty to duping an assemblyman into handing over a sum of RM50,000 to the village’s development and security committee’s bank account and JKKK Kampung Ensebang Kuari Baru for a road rehabilitation project four years ago.
The accused, Alex Libau, 59, pleaded guilty to the offence under Section 415 of the Penal Code punishable under Section 417 of the Penal Code before Session’s Court Judge Steve Ritikos.
The accused was charged with committing the offence at a coffee shop at Tabuan Jaya at 8.30 am to 5 pm on September 8, 2018.
