MUKAH: The profile of each village or longhouse has been used as reference in determining the eligibility of recipients for certain government assistance including the distribution of food aid during the current movement control order (MCO).

Tellian Constituency Service Centre special officer Felix Pieng said if there was any shortfall or surplus in the allocation, then this is the time when the profile is needed.

“This is the reason why district office stressed on the importance of keeping an up-to-date profile by each village or longhouse,” he said to reporters via WhatsApp yesterday.

He was asked whether the distribution of the first phase of food aid in Tellian constituency had been completed.

Felix added that the list of recipients was also provided by village or longhouse chiefs.

According to him, 13 villages and 83 longhouses involving 3,041 recipients were given food aid.

He said the distribution was carried out on Wednesday and Thursday in the form of 10kg rice for each household and also food baskets for 351.
