KUCHING: Three thieves who were stealing from a farm in Rantau Panjang were unable to escape as villagers surrounded and apprehended them.
The trio, all in their 20s, were attempting to steal
fertiliser and pesticides from a farm at 3.30pm when they were noticed by a neighbour, who then called for others to form a ring to surround them.
Realising that they were overpowered, the trio gave up and were tied up as police came to get them.
In a separate case, an elderly woman who was home alone was robbed by three men in her house in Kenyalang Park on Wednesday night.
The 73-year-old told police that she was sleeping when the trio, masked and armed, woke her up.
They ransacked her house and took away branded
watches and RM250 in cash.
Police are investigating the case.
