KUCHING: The people of Kampung Malaysia Jaya welcome the installation of streetlights and the upgrading of the multipurpose hall in their village.
Kampung Malaysia Jaya community leader Penghulu Marzuki Hamdan, 67, said, “I’m grateful to Semariang assemblywoman Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali for her help.
“The streetlights will ensure a safe environment for the villagers,” he told New Sarawak Tribune during the handing over of the multipurpose hall and streetlights at Kampung Malaysia Jaya today.
Present to officiate at the event was Sharifah Hasidah.
Another resident, Patimah Jas, a 74-year-old housewife, said previously, there were accidents because the roads were dark.
