KUCHING: Villages in the state have been urged to organise more youth-centric programmes.

”We should be more active in organising beneficial programmes and activities for the youth so that they do not get involved in unhealthy activities that will ruin their lives,” said Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, MA63 and State-Federal Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali.

“As we all know, the future of Sarawak lies in their hands,” she said at the Beliaku Ceria Merdeka 2022 ceremony at Kampung Astana Lot on today (Aug 21).

She said village heads and the village development and security committees (JKKK) need to provide early training to youth by organising various programmes and activities that will bring benefit to everyone.

“Moreover, these kinds of programmes and activities will surely maintain the unity and cooperation among the people,” she added.
