KUCHING: Kuching Connections Toastmasters Club has elected its club leaders for the 2017-2018 term. 60% of them are youths.

The new Club President is Vincent Chai while the Vice President Education is Colonel Lim and Vice President Membership Thomas Teo.

Adeline Liong DTM is the Vice President Public Relations while the Secretary is Nicholas Bong.

The Treasurer is Rebecca Heng DTM while the Sergeant-at-arms are Louis Muk and Mohammad Ali.

Speaking at the Annual General Meeting of the club, outgoing President, Thomas Teng congratulated the members for achieving excellence in their educational and leadership tracks.

Teng will be the incoming Division Director for Kuching for the 2017-2018 term. He was returned unopposed in the just concluded District 87 annual business meeting held in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah on 19 May, 2017.

The club has achieved the President’s Distinguished Club status conferred by Toastmasters International for the past years.

Newly elected Club President, Vincent Chai reaffirmed that the club would continue to prosper by bringing in more young new members.

This would ensure that the club remained vibrant.

Kuching Connections Toastmasters Club is the home club of current District 87 Director Ivy Lau DTM.

It is also the home club of Datuk John Lau DTM, the International President of Toastmasters International in 2012-2013. He was the first Malaysian to reach the leadership helm of Toastmasters International.

John co-founded the club with Esther Law DTM back in 2004. In its 13 years of Toastmasters journey, the club has groomed many Toastmasters leaders, who became successful leaders in the business world.
