KUCHING: The Old Josephians’ Association (OJA) has raised RM4,742 through its Virtual Ora Et Labora Run 2020 for the SMK St Joseph Mill Hill Block restoration project.

OJA managed to register 350 participants for the annual run, which was done virtually this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The school’s restoration project costs RM5.5 million, with RM2.5 million raised last year. The school is therefore in need of another RM3 million and they are going all out on their second wave of donation drive.

Any individual or group of Josephians who manages to raise RM100,000 can have a classroom named after them, subject to the approval of the School Board of Management.

There are nine classrooms available for naming, four of which have been taken up so far.

OJA president Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian appealed to all fellow Josephians and corporate entities to donate generously to the restoration fund so that more students can benefit from the premier education institution.
