Virus claims three more lives

KUCHING: Covid-19 has claimed the lives of three from Sibu, bringing the total number of deaths in the state to 53 to date.

A 74-year-old local man (Case 2,584) was admitted to Sibu Hospital after he showed Covid-19 symptoms when being screened on Jan 25.

His health deteriorated and he was announced dead on Feb 7.

Meanwhile, the second fatality was Case 2,408, an 89-year-old woman who being treated at Sibu Hospital due to shortness of breath, coughing, fever, fatigue, and lack of appetite.

Her test was conducted on Feb 4 and came back positive, but her health deteriorated and was announced dead on Feb 8.

The case had a history of comorbidity such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and dyslipidaemia.

The third fatality was Case 2,408, an 89-year-old local man who was admitted to Sibu Hospital when his close contact test came back as positive on Jan 19.

His health deteriorated and he was announced dead on Feb 8. He also had a history of comorbidity such as high blood pressure and dyslipidaemia.
