Chee Kadir presented a donation check to Mordani at the Opening Ceremony of the IPD Saratok Community Policing Programme with the Kabong Community in Kabong, today.

KABONG: Police must be alerted about any errant activity in the community to keep a lid on crime.

Kabong assemblyman Mohd Chee Kadir who made the call said it was therefore important that the community continues relaying information to the police.

“We are all responsible for channeling information about misconduct that occurs around us to ensure that efforts to combat crime are effective.

“Similarly, I hope that engagement sessions between community leaders and tribal leaders (KMKK) in Kabong with the police and people’s representatives can be further intensified,” he said.

He said this at the launching of the Saratok Community Policing Programme at the Kabong Hawker Center, today.

He praised the initiative of the police through this programme which aims to provide exposure on the prevention of various crimes to the local community.

“This community policing programme will give the community confidence in the aspect of safety in Kabong,” he said.

Chee also called for cooperation between the police and the Neighbourhood Unit Area (KRT) through the Voluntary Patrol Scheme (SRS) team in their respective villages.
