MIRI: In an effort to make the public friendlier towards the environment, the anti-drug squad of the National Anti-Drug Agency (Nada) Miri branch held a virtual programme dubbed ‘Go Green – Community on Alert’ today to collect discarded face masks and rubbish.

The one-day programme was also meant as a platform for the squad to spread the message on the dangers of drugs.

A total 60 participants took part in the programme, which was held in conjunction with the National Anti-Drug 2021 celebration.

Miri Anti-Drug Squad chairman Azlan Hamdani said, the virtual programme kicked off at 9am until 11am and held simultaneously in groups of two to five participants in their respective areas around Miri City.

Lambir assemblyman Ripin Lamat launched the programme at Miri’s AADK office.

Within two hours, the participants managed to collect more than 800 discarded face masks and all of them were sent to the AADK office Miri branch and handed over to the city council for disposal.
