KUCHING: The state government is looking for volunteers to strengthen the workforce at its vaccine administration centres (PPVs).
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) advisor Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian said this is in line with the state’s efforts to scale up its vaccine rollout.
“We need volunteers to assist with the vaccine rollout from now until August.
“We need to scale up fast with the substantial availability of vaccines every week from June onwards,” he said in a Facebook post on Tuesday (June 8).
In a poster shared by Dr Sim in the same post, the state government is currently recruiting volunteers who are medical officers, pharmacists, assistant medical officers and nurses.
The monthly allowances offered are RM2,400 for degree holders and RM2,000 for diploma holders. It also said that the volunteers will be protected under the Group Personal Accident Insurance along with priority for vaccination.
Among the conditions for the applicants are they must be a Malaysian citizen staying in Sarawak, aged between 18 and 60 as well as mentally and physically fit.
Volunteers must also be willing to be placed at PPVs which are in need of workforce and have no close contact with Covid-19 cases in the last fourteen days.
