KUCHING: Upon learning that Kampung Bintawa Hulu and Bintawa Tengah have been placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO), Santubong Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar quickly instructed his parliamentary constituency’s service centre to send immediate assistance.

Contributions worth RM40,000 in the form of food and kitchen items were successfully distributed to the affected residents with the help of Pantai Damai assemblyman Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi.

“I have received reports that 2,368 residents in 465 houses received the donations,” he said in a Facebook post today.

“As an elected representative, it is my responsibility to ensure the wellbeing of the people in my parliamentary constituency.”

He expressed his gratitude to the Pantai Damai Service Centre for assisting in the distribution of the donations.

Wan Junaidi, who is also the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister, hoped that the residents would stay patient and comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for their safety.

“Even though I am unable to be there, I will make sure that you all receive sufficient assistance,” he assured.

The two-week EMCO is effective from March 16 to 30.
