KANOWIT: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg was warmly welcomed on arrival at his first stop — Kanowit District Council multipurpose stall and tamu — during a motorcycle convoy trip to Kapit on Sunday (Oct 4).

Abang Johari and his entourage left Eco Garden in Sibu Jaya around 8.50am before arriving at Kanowit about an hour later.

His arrival and his entourage were welcomed by Deputy Health Minister II cum Kanowit MP, Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang.

Also present were Machan assemblyman, Allan Siden Gramong, former Machan assemblyman, Datuk Seri Gramong Juna, Kanowit District Officer, Kathreen Lalai Eddie Saga and MDK secretary, Anthony Luta.

In Kanowit, the chief minister attended a briefing on a development project by the implementing agency before meeting traders and visitors at the ‘pasar tamu’.

Before continuing his journey to Nanga Ngungun and Kapit, he had breakfast with the people at the Kanowit District Council multipurpose stall.
