BAU: Emergency maintenance works are being carried out by the Sarawak Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB), which would start at 9pm tonight and ended at 4am tomorrow (Jan 5).
The areas affected are along Jln Bau/Lundu to Stesen Pam Pengalak Btg Kayan, Kpg Sibuluh, Jln Selalang/Tondong, Apar/Barieng/Segong, throughout Kpg Singai, Sg Pinang-Kpg Melayu Seberang, throughout Jagoi area, Krokong and surrounding areas.
“These areas mentioned are expected to experience low water pressure, with some experiencing no water supply at all.
“The disruption was to give way for the contractors to do flushing works on the new pipeline from the Bau traffic light intersection to Sebuku water tank,” JBALB Sarawak said in a statement today (Jan 4).
JBALB Sarawak further advised residents in the affected areas to store adequate water supply and save on water consumption during this period.
“The cooperation and patience of consumers are much appreciated. All the latest developments will be informed on JBALB Sarawak’s official Facebook page,” they said.

In another development, emergency maintenance works will also take place throughout Kampung Tebakang, Kampung Pichin and Kampung Krusen in Serian district from 9pm tonight to 4am tomorrow (Jan 5).
The exercise is to give way for the appointed contractors to conduct permanent meter installation (PMI) works near Tebakang Treated Water Plant for the purpose of water supply system surveillance in the areas.
Meanwhile, Lawas also experienced water disruption except in Merapok, Punang and Kuala Lawas to give way for repair works involving the leaking Double Air Valve (DAV) for a six-inch DI (Ductile Iron) pipe.
The water disruption began 9am on Monday (Jan 4).
