Water disruptions in Sibu from Friday night

SIBU: Beginning this Friday night, many areas here may face water disruption problems.

A statement issued by the Lembaga Air Sibu (LAS) on Tuesday, said these were due to upgrades at the Salim Treatment Plant Phase 2.

According to the spokesperson, the work will begin at 11 pm on May 21 (Friday) and will end at 3 am on May 22.

“During this time, the Salim Treatment Plant Phase 2 treated water pumps will be disconnected.

“During that time, there will be low water supply pressure or a water supply outage.”

The affected areas are the entire Sibu Jaya area, the entire Kampung Jeriah area, the entire Taman Permai area, from Jalan Oya to the Jln  Sibintek area, Nibong Tada Booster Station, along the main road to Jln  Ling Kai Cheng, from the new traffic lights at Jln  Ling Kai Cheng/Jln Ulu Sg Merah to Lrg Ulu Sg Merah 63, from the traffic lights at Jln Ling Kai Cheng/Jln Deshon to the SMK Rosli Dhoby area (including Jln Gelama, Jln Angsana, Lrg  Deshon 4), from the Sibu Jaya traffic lights to the Durin bridge at Jln  Durin Link area (including Ulu Sg Salim & Jln  Sengan, from the Farley traffic lights at Jln Salim to the traffic lights at Jln Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce/Jln Tunku Abdul Rahman (Jln Salim Bypass area), from the traffic lights at Jln Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce/Jln Tunku Abdul Rahman to Lrg Tunku Abdul Rahman 2 (including Star Mega Mall and shop house), from the traffic lights at Jln Tunku Abdul Rahman/ Jln Ulu Oya to Sibu-Bintulu traffic lights (including Sibu Hospital, Jln  Ulu Oya, Jln  Undan, Jln  Cendana, Lrg  Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce 60, Taman Desa Satria, Taman Bumi Indah, Jln. Bougenvilla, Jln Ruai, Jln Pine, Kem Rascom & Jln Pasai Bon Dua), from the traffic lights at Jln Tunku Abdul Rahman/Jln Ulu Oya to Sibu Jaya traffic lights (including Jln Salim Belalang, SWB Booster Station 13 miles, Taman Sanhill, Sibu Airport & Eco Garden), from Sibu/Bintulu traffic lights to SWB Booster Station to Mile 19 (including the Army Batu 14 Camp) & Junaco Park) and the entire Kemuyang Park area.

“Customers in these locations are advised to stockpile enough water to cover potential water supply outages.
