Water supply interruption tonight

KUCHING: Residents at major areas here around Kuching will experience water supply interruption for six hours, beginning today (March 3) at 10pm.

Kuching Water Board yesterday announced the water disruption is due to pipe repair works on 840mm MSCL pipe at 6th Mile in Jalan Penrissen.

“We are issuing an announcement notice on the temporary water supply interruption for six hours following the pipe repair works which will begin at 10pm on Tuesday (March 3),” the statement reads.

Water supply would resume as soon as the repair work was completed, and is expected to fully recover by 5am tomorrow (March 4).

Areas that will be affected are Jalan Semaba, Jalan Simpang Tiga, Kenyalang Park, 7th Mile, 9th Mile, 10th Mile, Puncak Borneo, Kuching-Serian road link, SMK Siburan and Kampung Landeh.

“Consumers along and around Taman Sarmax, Semeba Park, areas along Jalan Semaba, Jalan Simpang Tiga, Kenyalang Park, 7th Mile, 9th Mile, 10th Mile, Booster Station Nos 1 & 2, Jalan Puncak Borneo, Jalan Kuching/Serian, SMK Siburan and Kampung Landeh will experience water supply interruption, while areas in Pending, Bintawa and Kuching City will experience low water pressure during said period,” it said.

Those affected are advised to store adequate water supply for use during the disruption.
